Project LUMA

Year 2024

Brief
One in ten people in the UK are affected by anxiety at any given time. This project aimed to explore the potential of a user-centred solution utilising wearable technology to support the continuous diagnosis and management of anxiety and depression.

Outcome
This approach combines wearable technologies with customised algorithms to enable continuous screening for anxiety and depression, distinguishing between different types of conditions. It identifies individual triggers and offers tailored support for therapies like CBT, recovery guidance, and condition management. The design leverages cutting-edge technology to create a discreet, stigma-free wearable experience, ensuring user comfort and ethical, secure data handling.

The project was mainly theoretical, designing systems, optimising software choices, and physical textile model making over a hardcase to determine aesthetics effect on user empowerment.
